What to drink in the morning instead of coffee?
Drinking coffee on an empty stomach isn’t such a good idea since coffee is highly acidic and this might cause problems to your digestive system.
Very good alternative for caffeine is to drink warm lemon water. What? Lemon? Water? Come one! Crazy, right?
Stop, give it a chance. Warm up half a cup of water, squeeze half a lemon. Close your eyes. Drink. Wasn’t so bad, was it? Why is this better for you? Combination of lemon and warm water will flush away all the toxic stuff that our body accumulated during the night. Lemon is alkaline, means it will balance your belly nicely. Kind of morning yoga for your gut. Clever, right?
Now you can have a shower, eat your breakfast and drink your beloved cup of coffee finally. Try to swap it sometimes for fresh green juice of any kind or this fresh beetroot-carrot- orange juice that will give you boost of energy and its good for your guts also!
Ingredients (enough for two):
* 3 medium beetroots
* 5 medium carrots
* 3 oranges
* 1 apple
* small piece of fresh turmeric root
Press everything in a juicer and enjoy while its fresh. Lasts 2 days in the fridge. But believe me it is so good that you will not want to keep it that long in the fridge. Anyhow it is good to have some so you don’t need to pull out your juicer every morning.
