The sun is setting behind the mountains. We’re sitting in the kitchen sharing delicious meal (see the recipe for simple winter salad with pomegranate further in this post) and talking. The type of by-the-table-conversation that you don’t want to end, that you feel like you’ve been waiting for this moment all your life. Everything is as it should, the food, the light, the people.
What does simple life means?
We need to understand a good life is living in simplicity.
Where do we begin? All of existence exists in relationship. That realization is setting the “I” free from all his illusions of strife to stand alone! What is a simple life when we have grown so complex?
Our desires, wishes, longings, perpetual chase for becoming, being other than what is, chasing rainbows far afield, fear of losing out, not being there, missing the boat, may be another outfit, another style, to chase the never ending chase… Is this madness which creates ever more self harming, addictions, mental despair?
Simplicity is born out of clarity of mind that is free of all illusions.
When we live in deep relationship with nature, we have reverence for all of it. Every aspect of life is alive to us and this is living in “Love” and in love we can do no harm or wrong! In understanding this relationship, all of life is “Sacred”. Living such a life, we have no waste, we thread lightly this earth, and live in the magic of its poetry!
